2011 WAS A GREAT YEAR!We had lots of fun on the road this year, most recently at the Halifax Pop Explosion. We killed it at NXNE (2 showcases) and Canadian Music Fest (3 showcases). Back in May, we played our first shows across the Atlantic in Ireland & England. We made some amazing connections these and we’re heading back to the UK next May! More than anything though, 2011 has been a very creative year for us. We’ve been writing tons of new material and have already begun recording a full-length album. Expect a new single in early 2012!

INDIE WEEK IRELAND TOUR PART 2

INDIE WEEK IRELAND TOUR PART 1

Hello from Dublin! We played 1 show in Belfast (that included a very well-dressed older gentleman named Gabriel cutting a rug in front of the stage during our set) and 5 crazy shows in Dublin - the last of which was a very sweaty dance party called The King Kong Club. It’s been an amazing week here in Dublin. We have a day off here and then we take on England…

**GENTLY SLIDING ‘THE ROCK’ BACK INTO ROCK & ROLL**

Indie Dance-Pop quartet holds curling bonspiel

to self-finance UK tour

TORONTO, ON – If you ever held hope that you would see naturopathy, Grandma’s baking, curling and Indie-Pop in one place, the stars have begun to align. In an effort to raise money for their upcoming UK tour, Toronto’s These Electric Lives will host a bonspiel and silent auction on April 30th at the High Park Curling Club.

Dubbed a curling ‘FUNdraiser’, the evening will include “Curling for Dummies”, a learn-as-you-play bonspiel directed by senior members of the curling club, as well as a silent auction and a performance by These Electric Lives. Prizes for the auction include a pie a month for one year, baked by a 77-year-old rural Ontario grandmother, as well a free consultation and assessment at the Dandelion Naturopathic Clinic. The event will also feature a DJ, pool, foosball tournament and a bake sale.

These Electric Live’s infectious songs and high energy live sets have earned them praise and the opportunity to share the stage with the likes of Boxer Rebellion (UK), Mystery Jets (UK), Asobi Seksu (NYC), Bang Lime (members of Metric), The Skydiggers and Beast (Montreal). The band has performed on MTV Live and was recently featured on AUX TV’s “Band Foto”.

Following the success of their recently-released EP We See Light…, the band is gearing up to take their indie-rock/electro-pop blend overseas on their first ever tour of the United Kingdom. Embarking in May and completely self-financed, the tour will be making stops in Dublin, Belfast, Glasgow, Manchester and London, as well as headlining Indie Week Ireland and a Canadian Blast showcase at Liverpool Sound City.
